Canon Joins SAP® Printer Vendor Program as Gold-level Member, Bringing Support to SAP
Business Software Environments for New imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series and Beyond
Las Vegas, September 22, 2009 – Further extending its support for
business-critical software applications, Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leader in digital
document imaging and advanced office solutions, today announced that Canon Inc.
has joined the SAP® Printer Vendor program as a gold-level member.
Through its participation in this global program, Canon plans to develop
device types for new printing systems to enable customers to print documents
from within their SAP applications.
“We are pleased to be working
closely with SAP to extend the capabilities and applications of our digital imaging
equipment,” said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Imaging
Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. “Canon’s
participation in this program reaffirms our commitment to supporting the various
business applications our customers choose, including SAP solutions. This relationship will help ensure
customers with the most widely used business software in the market have an
easy and effortless experience when printing to Canon systems.”
Through the SAP Printer Vendor program, participating
printer vendors, including Canon, have access to specific SAP development
resources and environments to optimize support for their devices operating in
SAP-based environments. Beginning
with the newly announced imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series, new device types for Canon

Implementations of SAP-approved
device types enable access to a range of output capabilities available on Canon
MFP/SFP for business environments that utilize SAP applications. The SAP-approved
device types will be available in both PS and PCL formats and offer support for
a range of print options and functionalities.
Canon U.S.A. plans also
continue to support Canon-developed device types for current and legacy MFP/SFP
devices for use with SAP applications, further ensuring continuity of support
for a wide range of digital office systems in SAP environments. These device types will continue to be made available through
